ULI Americas implements its mission through 42 local district councils across the United States. ULI Colorado’s Leadership consists of the leading professionals of local real estate industry. Established locally in 1998, today ULI Colorado has over 1400 members across the various land use disciplines.  About the Role

The Manager, reporting directly to the Executive Director, will work closely with ULI Colorado’s Chair, Vice Chair, volunteer leadership team, Executive Director, ULI Colorado staff,  and volunteer members to oversee the development and execution of a communications and marketing plan, including email marketing and social media, that elevates the private and public sectors’ awareness of ULI Colorado’s brand; program of work; commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in ULI and the real estate industry in Colorado; thought leadership; and community impact initiatives (technical assistance panels [TAPs].

 Marketing and Communications:

• Creating and implementing a marketing and communications plan that improves member, nonmember, and public awareness of ULI Colorado’s program of work and increases member and nonmember engagement with ULI Colorado, including through the annual Get Involved recruitment initiative.
• Developing persuasive communications strategies, including social media, for showcasing the Institute’s thought leadership, increasing brand awareness in ULI Colorado’s market, and raising awareness of and interest in ULI Colorado’s community impact initiatives.
• Designing and scheduling email marketing that creatively and effectively promotes ULI Colorado’s programs, activities, and initiatives and improves email open rates, engagement, and registration.
• Managing communications initiatives, including, but not limited to, newsletters, social media campaigns, email marketing, press releases, and annual reports.
• Developing and maintaining timely, high-quality content on ULI Colorado’s website and social media accounts.
• Measuring and tracking the effectiveness of marketing and communications plans and initiatives.
• Having the capability of representing the ULI Colorado through public speaking and participation at ULI programs, committee meetings, task forces, and meetings with ULI partner organizations and agencies.

 Program Development and Coordination:

• Playing a key role in the creation and administration of 40+ programs a year, including panel discussions, project tours, leadership events, sponsor-only events, forums, mentorship programs, and a biennial awards program. These programs range in size from 20 to 500 attendees.
• Working with committee members to identify speakers and align the content with the priorities of ULI Colorado.
• Attending monthly meetings, coordinating with co-chairs to produce agendas and related materials, and assisting in the development of content for annual programs.
• Working with the co-chairs to ensure that programs and content are coordinated with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Women’s Leadership Initiative programming subcommittees.
• Working collaboratively with the Executive Director and the Technical
  Assistance Panel Committee to source and staff TAPs.

 Operations:

• Manages and maintains district council operations, including, but not limited to, supplies and equipment, files, databases, records, calendars, inventories, and other district council resources, equipment, and maintenance as needed.
• Works with the Executive Director and other staff to prepare budgets and recertification plans.
• Manages the activities of a third-party contractor in administering NetForum (a member and event database) input from the district council, including, but not limited to, committee assignments, complimentary event passes for registration of members of the press, speakers, sponsors, and other dignitaries.
• Manages the activities of a third-party contractor in processing and managing accounts payable and receivable for all activities associated with the district council, including, but not limited to, sponsorships, programs, membership, community outreach, book orders, supplies, etc., not to surpass 20 hours per month.
• Tracks expenses to improve budgetary performance.
• Works directly with ULI Colorado’s staff and volunteer treasurer to ensure and monitor fiscal health, and to prepare documents for annual budget recertification and reforecasting.

 Location and Salary Range

The ULI Colorado staff currently works in a hybrid setting; however, the applicant will be required to reside in the state of Colorado. The salary range for this position has been set at $61,000-$68,000. Actual salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and other job-related factors. The range listed is just one component of ULI’s total compensation package for employees which includes a full and competitive benefits package.

Candidate Profile

• BA/BS degree or 4–6 years of relevant work experience in marketing and/or communications required; a degree in communications/marketing, business/public administration, or related fields preferred. An interest in real estate, land use, or urban planning preferred; familiarity with the real estate and land use industry in Colorado.
• Previous experience with nonprofit management or volunteer members desired.
• Proficiency in social media, email marketing (preferably Real Magnet), and WordPress.
• Proficiency in Canva, Hootsuite, and Meta Business preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Proficiency with CRM, NetForum preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to work with senior business and public-sector executives and internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to initiate tasks and assume responsibility for them; work with minimal supervision in a high-production position; prioritize and reprioritize tasks as needed; and handle multiple tasks concurrently and completely with responsible follow-through.
• Strong organizational and project/program management skills.
• Collaborative, positive, and team-oriented.
• Self-motivated, demonstrating meticulous attention to both details and deadlines.
• Once ULI Colorado returns to in-person activities, the Manager will be expected to attend morning and evening events and programs multiple times per month, as well as regular monthly meetings of the committees and subcommittees.
