BJ’s Beer Club, Membership Services Director
Reports to: EVP, Chief Marketing Officer
Location: BJ’s Restaurants, Inc. Restaurant Support Center in Huntington Beach, CA
FT/PT Status: Full Time
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt

Purpose:
The Director of the Beer Club at BJ’s Restaurants and Brewhouse serves as the on-site representative and coordinator for all membership-related program details. This position is responsible for leading the strategic vision and execution around creating and cultivating meaningful relationships with all members with the goal to grow the subscription service and deliver a strong P&L. The Director position holds a key position within the organization and acts as a cross functional project leader between the operations, brewery, IT, supply chain and finance teams.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Vision, Strategy & Program Branding:
  • Develop and optimize Beer Club program including product and demand strategy, acquisition and retention strategies
  • Develop branding elements including logo, overall look and feel and nomenclature
  • Day-to-day cross functional management and execution of Beer Club as part of marketing team

Marketing:

  • Lead strategic vision and execution of annual plan working with the senior leadership team
  • Execute marketing communication planning and effectiveness
  • Coordinate with the marketing team on materials, including monthly shipment inserts, email blasts, beer Club correspondence, necessary forms, website updates and Beer Club newsletter
  • Collaborate with IT and digital support team to optimize e-commerce and digital UX
  • Maintain Beer Club mailing/email database and website including membership reminders and program communications
Program Analytics:
  • Establish Beer Club membership KPI’s and optimize to drive business
  • Track acquisition against monthly goals and report daily/weekly to cross-functional teams
  • Work with database marketing team to manage guest segmentation and revenue generation strategies
Cross-Functional Liaison of the Following:
  • Support the execution of Beer Club shipments, including detailed communication strategy to guests and the operations team
  • Connect and maintain communication with brewery and operations to understand guest interest of current members and potential prospects
  • Work with compliance to understand regulations
  • Coordinate and communicate release date information and any other current beer or market place information required
  • Work with brewery team to determine beer needs and requests from club members
  • Act as a liaison for customer service and support issues
Necessary Skills and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA+
  • Must have sufficient marketing experience in subscription services and/or brand management category
  • A passion for beer and/or experience in the beverage business
  • Must be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible, amenable, and organized – demonstrates ability to work cross-functionality and support internal needs
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills with strong attention detail
  • Must have experience in copywriting
  • Must be able to demonstrate interest and knowledge of restaurant industry, craft beer and food
  • Must be able to proactively prioritize business needs and effectively manage resources
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Familiarity with Social Media publishing tools
Salary: Commensurate with experience
