Responsibilities

• Manage SQL Database Servers for various environments with best practices (Dev / QA / LOAD / UAT / Prod)
• Configure & Secure databases and User Privileges to avoid unauthorize access
• Troubleshoot issues related to SQL database reported by users and app team
• Planning & Setup Reporting Servers in Production
• Finetune the database parameters according to the workload to make sure they are running smooth with response times meeting the required SLAs
• Monitor and resolve dead locks, blockings and attend the alerts quickly if any raised
• Setup and configure backups for Disaster Recovery and Point in time Recovery
• Index Maintenance – Reviewing un-used indexes and review the index statistics usage and take necessary actions required if any.
• Support Deployments & Change requests to databases
• Automate routine tasks by developing Bash / Shell scripts such as Installations, Backups, Monitoring, Fail-over etc.
• Review custom database schema designs developed by Developers and suggest changes according to the existing environment.
• Review slow queries and queries not using indexes regularly and suggest ways to improve the query performances based on the usage pattern.
• Develop / Review stored procedures to support manual data corrections based on the request from App team.
• Help Marketing team in generating the Email Lists and working with MFT Team to securely transfer them to Cheetah Digital team for email processes.
• Work with LOAD Team in monitoring the database servers during the load tests.



Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of SQL Database development experience
• Proficient in Database Development with MySQL, MS SQL, or Oracle PL/SQL
• Strong experience with SQL Server performance tuning
• Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL
• Experience with replication configuration in SQL
• Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and MYISAM
• Experience working with InnoDB Cluster, Routers and MySQL Enterprise Backup solutions
• Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
• Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and how to apply to DB environment
• Experience with data modeling in relational databases and writing complex SQL queries
• Knowledge on Cloud Database Infrastructure like AWS & Google Cloud is a plus
• Working experience with multi-tier web applications
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GIT and Subversion
• Experience with MySQL 5.7 Enterprise Server is preferred
• Experience with MySQL Backup tools and monitoring tools also preferred
