The Professional Information Business (PIB) at Dow Jones plays a critical role in the delivery of key B2B products in order to be the power behind global businesses. We are a truly global business with a significant proportion of our customer base outside of North America. We provide information; data and analytics to help support and drive our customers key business decisions, and protect their organizations from risk. The PIB business is broken into four customer focused verticals to solve for user solutions: News & Insight, DNA, Risk & Compliance and PIB Alliances

These business units are continually looking to develop and innovative new products that will further serve our customer needs.

Position Statement

The Partner Success Manager has expert project and partner management experience, and is responsible for supporting the PIB Partners and Licensing team in managing Partner support, coordinating relationship management activities, resource coordination, requirements preparation, testing and auditing, communications/marketing assistance, research and investigations, implementation of projects, process optimization and creation, reporting and data analysis, and managing all aspects of post-trial/activation/onboarding/post setup/partner maintenance activities - with a focus on delivering on-time, on-budget/resource, within scope, and outstanding customer service. Partners is defined as Information Providers, IPs, as well as Commercial Partnerships with companies.

This role is responsible for providing guidance and solutions to a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, and as such, will need to present, report, and facilitate consensus and alignment in a professional and timely manner.

The successful candidate is hands-on and highly detail oriented. We also require strong collaboration skills, the ability to multi task multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Strategy Activities
  • Assist Regional Heads and Global Content Licensing Manager with key objectives, supporting KPIs, tracking performances, and implementing corrective actions to ensure alignment with business targets and partner satisfaction
  • Define and manage Partner Activation, On-boarding, and Maintenance strategies and tactics, as well as developing processes and any associated tools for reporting/communications
  • Propose process changes, improve data centralization and utilization in strategic decision making, and ensure updating of reference materials

Relationship Activities
  • Maintain high levels of partner satisfaction through regular communication and establishing strong relationships with all Partners; ultimately ensuring loyalty through the quality of our solutions, the quality of our relationships and the excellent level of responsiveness to their needs
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate records within the global CRM systems providing timely management information
  • Support and work with PAL team in successfully onboarding partners once agreements are signed or modified. Activities include working with Marketing and Sales on Communication Plans, ensuring proper content testing and delivery, billing set up and invoicing, Sales Team training, and records management
  • Assist PAL team in retaining Dow Jones' contracted revenue and/or content provision, ensuring content, products, and services suitably address business needs
  • Take prospective partners through our Partner Process, ensuring internal consensus has been gained on the terms and nature of the partnership, and you are establishing a mutually beneficial relationship for Dow Jones and the Partner
  • Work with the Customer Service, Sales and Marketing teams to ensure understanding of our partners and content, and that these teams are equipped to talk about our content externally
  • Work in close collaboration with Legal, Finance, Product and Tech teams to ensure technical feasibility, compliance with Certification requirements, completion of NDAs and Partner suitability evaluations, agreement negotiations, vetting and implementation of demo/trials, and new and on-going record management and reporting
  • Manage both internal and external expectations on processes, timelines, approvals, and deadlines
  • Participate actively in the Dow Jones Princeton and New York offices, developing teamwork and cooperation


Content Licensing Work Activities
  • Assist with the execution of the annual Factiva Survey, Value Index Review, Renewal Report and Action Plan Summary
  • Support W8/W9 reporting and escalation activities
  • Assist with content licensing research activities and requests that include category analysis, source acquisition planning to match identified profiles/personas, beta testing admin portals and related source-related projects
  • Participate and represent PAL at weekly meetings including: Checkpoint meeting to review new Factiva sources, IP prospect debriefing and Utopia workflow, etc...
  • Attend working committee meetings with Data Strategy, Royalties, Content Licensing, and Content Development
  • Support creation and testing of partner and publisher source lists and queries
  • Support Utopia-related requests as required

Commercial Partnership Work Activities
  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day operational activities for new and/or existing partners - including Lead Assignment processing, declaration and partner report reviews, and partner requested report creation
  • Coordinate and manage the auditing of agreements, declarations, billing, CRM systems, reference files and portal updates
  • Track, manage and communicate with PAL team the pipeline of new and existing Partner activity
  • Identify and define scope, associated requirements, resources, stakeholders and delivery timelines in supporting and maintaining partner relationships
  • Coordination of all certification and post-certification activities, including but not limited to technical/content requirements auditing and testing, integration solution testing, auditing, reporting/billing testing, and resolution of billing declaration audits/escalations

Secondary Work Activities

Marketing Activities
  • Managing premiums inventory, purchases, logistics and planning activities
  • Assisting with the coordination of newsletter/survey creation and deployment, including the maintenance of contact information
  • Assisting Marketing with the execution of PAL marketing roadmap and Benefits Program

Communication Activities
  • Define optimal project communication strategies and assist in the implementation of communication between PAL and internal Dow Jones teams and with external stakeholders
  • Obtain buy-in and consensus internally and externally for each PAL project - throughout the life of the activity, and once completed, confirm and document satisfactory completion and next steps
  • Coordinate and assist with internal/external communications, partner engagement activities, and training that include Welcome Emails, In-life Emails, FAQ and General Help Info, Public Site/Brand Resource Centre updates, The Five, Training documents, and PAL Resource Center updates
  • Develop presentations, spreadsheets, process maps, Gantt charts, and business requirements documents

Data Analysis and Reporting Activities
  • Assist in data analysis, reporting, communication, and enabling of available data to the PAL team, especially as it relates to KPI factors
  • Continuously look for ways to improve, automate and provide to the PAL team data-driven decisions

Experience/Skills
  • Must be a self starter with entrepreneurial skills to identify how to progress multiple and varied projects with the new alliances the business forms
  • Experienced in change management & creating and applying new processes
  • Ability to articulate a vision and gain the buy-in of key stakeholders
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills, with an attention to detail
