The French Politics, Culture & Society Journal publishes peer-reviewed articles and book reviews on modern and contemporary France from the perspectives of the social sciences, history, and cultural analysis. It also examines France's relationship to the larger world, especially Europe, the United States, and the former French empire. The Managing Editor, who serves under the supervision of the Executive Editor, is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the journal and preparing each issue of the journal for submission to the publisher on schedule. The Managing Editor keeps in close contact with the editor(s) of the journal, the editorial board, the publisher, and authors and prospective authors to maintain the journals reputation for high scholarly standards, cordiality, and efficiency. The Managing Editor also makes recommendations to the Executive Editor regarding policy changes and ensures that they are implemented.


Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in History, French, Political Science, Anthropology or related field.

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree or higher in History, French, Political Science, Anthropology, or related field.

Required Experience:
2+ years experience with editing others work via as a teacher or in an editorial position. Experience producing academic research at the graduate level. Must include experience with writing and editing in the social sciences and/or humanities. and

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Fluency in French and English. Excellent writing and communication skills in French and English. Ability to plan production schedules, interact with a diverse population, and work under deadline pressure.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Interest in the full span of themes and approaches associated with French Studies.
