Job Description

The University of Nevada, Research & Innovation office is recruiting for a Proposal Capture Manager (PCM). A key role within the division, the PCM is responsible for supporting the preparation of complex, multi-disciplinary proposals including consulting with academic faculty across campus. This position will coordinate between multiple investigators and project teams by identifying work assignments, developing timelines for completion of proposals and monitoring progress to ensure timely proposal submission. The position maintains a unique emphasis on providing support to inter-disciplinary and multi-institutional proposal development. The incumbent will regularly meet with key personnel on the program/project to ensure that proposal development is on schedule; will prepare, compile and verify materials and information to assure quality and compliance; and will work closely with, and facilitate networking, among grant editors/writers in R&I and across campus.

The PCM will work closely with new faculty to help them maneuver the university policies and procedures to effectively and successfully submit proposals in line with the University’s mission and strategic goals. The PCM will edit proposal materials, working closely with principal investigators and will perform at an advanced level, gathering, sharing and/or preparing information to support faculty proposals and work closely with principal investigators/key personnel on matters concerning accuracy, form, style and format of proposals. In addition to complex and multi-disciplinary proposals, this position also develops and delivers workshops, training opportunities, and communication for academic faculty, coordinates with the pre-award staff to assist faculty with budget development and budget justifications, and ensures compliance with all federal, state and university requirements relative to external funding.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree four years of related work experience; OR, Master’s Degree and two years of related work experience

Related Experience: research development or sponsored activities in a university setting or academic environment.
