The Chief Marketing and Communications Officer (CMCO) leads all aspects of marketing and communications, working with TNC’s business units in support of growing the organization’s global conservation strategy. The CMCO develops and leads a marketing and communications plan to achieve the organization’s conservation, fundraising, and visibility goals. They are charged with raising the profile of The Nature Conservancy with targeted audiences, including current and potential members and donors, foundations, corporations, governments, and influencers around the globe. In partnership with business units, the CMCO will also lead the diversification of our brand, marketing, and communications efforts with youth and communities of color.
Reporting to the CEO, the CMCO devotes significant time and resources to organizational leadership responsibilities and works on a regular basis with the Board of Directors, regional managing directors, state and country program directors, other senior conservation leaders and key external influencers and high-level donors. They will manage and collaborate with a highly distributed team of over 130 people. They work closely with executive leadership to coordinate messaging and align marketing strategies that build critical support and funding to enable The Nature Conservancy to fulfill its mission.
