The Carrier Account Executive (CAE) is primarily responsible for new client acquisition while maintaining and growing the existing Southern Telecom client base. The CAE will develop and implement a targeted dark fiber and colocation marketing plan focused on telecom carriers, content providers, and large enterprises. The CAE position will work with internal SoCo subsidiaries, Marketing, Accounting, Outside Plant, Information Technology, and others to facilitate Southern Telecom business plan objectives. The CAE will attend industry conferences to prospect and develop long-term relationships with qualified clients.
  • College degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of wholesale telecom sales experience to telecom carriers, content providers, and large enterprises
  • Proven track record of  long sales cycle and revenue generation successes
  • Demonstrated ethical, creative, and client-centered relationship skills
  • Ability to understand client's key objectives and how Southern Telecom 's products and services can contribute to client's success
  • Frequent daily travel and moderate overnight travel
  • Acquisition of new clients through networking and prospecting
  • Maintain and grow existing Southern Telecom client base
  • Follow all internal processes and procedures to ensure compliance with SO/Southern Telecom requirements/policies
  • Participate in telecom conferences to promote Southern Telecom sales efforts
  • Build long-term customer relationships, identify client opportunities, and negotiate bi-lateral, wholesale contracts
  • Meet or exceed Southern Telecom's financial and business objectives
  • Build and leverage cross-functional relationships to accomplish sales goals
  • Prioritize sales goals and strategies based upon Southern Telecom business objectives
  • Exhibit all aspects of Southern Style
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work without direct supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills
  • Ability to handle difficult situations, resolve conflicts and operate in an intensely competitive environment
  • Ability to communicate with all levels internal and external to the company
  • Self-motivated and fully capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
