The Senior Manufacturing Engineer searches, plans, trains, executes, and facilitates operational improvement programs to create a culture of continuous improvement using Lean manufacturing methods that lead to employee empowerment, elimination of waste, and key results improvement. Lead process and / or product design projects and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget Improve the present manufacturing or production processes to improve productivity, quality, and profitability for the company utilizing LEAN methodologies (Kaizen / Shingijutsu techniques) Work closely with potential suppliers to complete R&D, prototyping and process evaluation Collect and analyze data on manufacturing processes, procedures, and performance using evaluation tools and develop action plans to drive improvement in scrap, rework, direct labor costs, setup time, quality, cost, and lead time Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field Minimum of 10 years of previous engineering work experience in a manufacturing environment 7-10 years’ experience applying Lean concepts and tools (6S, value stream mapping, visual workplace, flow and pull manufacturing, etc.) Experience in implementation of formal product development, process documentation and process control in a fast pace manufacturing environment Experience in Capital Projects Working Knowledge of cost estimating and cost out skills / tools required Certified PMP, Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean or Green Belt certification preferred Strong leadership skills with ability to lead/facilitate Kaizen teams and influence direction Self-motivated, self-directing, strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
