The Department of Agriculture, Nutrition and Veterinary Science at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a non-tenure track Lecturer II position starting January 2019. This position will be an integral component of the University of Nevada, Reno and the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources. Teaching responsibilities include instruction in both introductory and advanced undergraduate courses and advising of undergraduate students enrolled in the Veterinary and Agriculture Science majors. Applicants should demonstrate strong evidence of effective teaching, curriculum development, and advising of undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds. The candidate must be able to work in a multi-cultural setting and create an environment that fosters collegiality, diversity and teamwork while contributing to our institutional and departmental missions. Teaching and Outreach responsibilities include: 1) four undergraduate courses per year, including participation in existing team-taught courses; 2) advising undergraduate students; 3) providing service to the program and department, and 4) establishment of a Veterinary Science internship program with external organizations. Extensive travel within Nevada is expected in order to connect with stakeholders, promote the undergraduate educational degrees and support development, implementation and maintenance of the internship program.
