Job Description

Title: Community Outreach Manager
Salary range: $45,000 - $50,000
KaBOOM! is looking for an equity-focused individual to partner with and bring play to disinvested communities. The Community Outreach Manager (COM) serves as an internal advocate and is responsible for preparing child-serving organizations for KaBOOM! playspace offerings through a thorough screening process/needs assessment. As an Outreach Team member, you will get to know each community, listen to and learn from their lived realities, and ultimately, become their coach and ally.

  • Collaborate with Community Outreach Coordinator to create an outreach strategy in assigned regions, with a focus on project timelines and targeted research
  • Screen potential organizations for KaBOOM! playspace grant opportunities
    • Facilitate conference calls with decision makers and community members to prepare for, and determine fit for, funding opportunities
    • Share information and set expectations for KaBOOM! grant requirements
    • Share community information cross-team in a clear and concise manner through written and oral communication
  • Receive and review necessary paperwork for grant consideration, including landownership documents and contracts
  • Guide communities through grant award process, including relationship transfer to Project Management team for project execution
  • Maintain lasting relationships in order for larger partnerships within assigned regions to flourish
  • Facilitate cross-department leadership and collaboration

  • Willing to travel occasionally
What You'll Have:
  • Relevant experience in relationship-building, such as community outreach, client services or a similar field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present to diverse audiences, specifically racially, ethnically and socioeconomically diverse communities
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple responsibilities at once

  • Knowledge of Salesforce and/or MS Office Suite
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Past experience collecting and/or analyzing data
