Clemson University in search of a custodian that can work with little instruction/supervision. This individual will perform routine custodial duties and assist in verifying that all team members comply with standard cleaning procedures, safety rules and guidelines of OSHA, Risk Management and the Environmental Health and Safety Office of Clemson University. Performs other duties as assigned.JOB DUTIES
65% - Essential - Housekeeping:
Performs housekeeping duties as assigned, such as sweeping, mopping, dusting,scrubbing, stripping, buffing, sanitizing, and restocking. Cleans offices, labs, classrooms,conference rooms, halls, restrooms, locker rooms, activity rooms and break rooms. Assists in collection of recycling from assigned areas and informs customers of recycling opportunities. Clears entrances of snow, ice and other inclement weather obstacles. Recognizes and reports maintenance and safety issues to appropriate authority. Does and may at times lead Special and Project work as assigned.
15% - Essential - Supplies & Inventory:
Assists Supervisor in maintaining equipment and supplies inventory for buildings in team area. Inspects custodial closets in team area to maintain accurate inventory and to eliminate obsolete products and equipment. Assists and at times may lead in the deliver of supplies to buildings.
10% - Essential - Training & Inspection:
Assists in the training of new employees as assigned. Verifies compliance to training standards and retrains employees as assigned. Assists in Quality Control reviews when requested.
5% - Essential - Research & Testing:
Assists Supervisor in researching and testing new products, equipment or cleaning methods and assists in evaluating their effectiveness. Assists in other special committee tasks as requested.
5% - Essential - Laundry:
Responsible for the cleaning and maintaining of Microfiber products. Serves as back up to person responsible for delivery of supplies. Available for team project work outside of standard working hours.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education - High School or Equivalent
Licenses - Drivers License Class D normal Work Exp 3+ years experience in custodial and housekeepingRESPONSIBILITIES
