This position manages both pre-sale and post-sale technical activities including assessment of company products meeting customer applications and the preparation of product specifications for development and installation of customized applications/solutions


Technical Sales Support

Involves pursuing the sales leads that are generated from trade shows, industry meetings, advertising, publications and telephone inquiries and developing them into sales. Understanding a potential client's applications must be made by soliciting samples, analyzing them and reviewing the analysis reports generated. Expert knowledge of the operating principles of the instrumentation is mandatory for the presentation of all analysis reports to customers and the frequent in-house and on-site demonstrations. Installation and training of the instrumentation is required. The candidate will be certified to perform all calibrations, validations and service calls. Resolution to customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations is required. Establishes and maintains lines of communication with product manager on issues such as considerations for product applications suitability and reliability.

Technical Product Support

Communication with the sales force, applications laboratory and Product Manager is crucial to communicating market trends and customer requirements. Professional and technical knowledge must be maintained by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Researches and maintains technical knowledge of products and applications. Investigates new applications emerging in industry and develops application papers to support. Schedules training and organizes training materials for internal users and customers. Provides regular product technical support to the defined territory. Cultivates relationships with customer accounts by working within their specified territory on a weekly basis.


Works with Product Manager providing insight gained from the field to define new products and features that the market warrants. Works with Product Manager to implement new product applications, introductions and product obsolescence. Works with sales management to develop an annual sales plan in support of the key selling objectives. Attends trade shows, organizes and hosts seminars and other events to represent field of specialization.

North East - Sales Manager

Sales manager for North East, Middle Atlantic States and Eastern Canada, including Toronto, Quebec and Montreal. Conducts sales calls, performs demonstrations, provides quotations, and finalizes sales in this territory. Performs installations, training and product support as required. Certification mandatory to perform all calibration, validation and service calls.


  • Bachelor's in Engineering or relevant scientific field
  • Minimum 8 years related experience including technical knowledge of company products, product applications, industry's served, customers, and competition
  • Strong leadership, influence and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel up to 65%
