The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the management and processing of multiple payrolls (weekly and semi-monthly) for all U.S. locations. This includes the processing of payroll timely and accurately, ensuring all federal and state compliance, filings and reporting accountabilities are met, administrator for the Payroll and Time & Attendance, partnering with Human Resources and Finance on payroll-related matters and providing payroll expertise and guidance to the business. This position reports directly to the Corporate Accounting Manager.



Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely processing of multiple payrolls
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal and State laws and reporting/filing requirements
  • End-to-end processing of hourly and salaried payrolls
  • Administrator for both the payroll and Time & Attendance systems.
  • Update and maintain payroll records
  • Process pay increases, compensation changes and calculation of back pay
  • Work closely with HR for changes in payroll related matters
  • Provide detailed payroll information for workers compensation and similar type audits
  • Coordinate training and guidance with business units in their payroll support role
  • Support month-end close for areas of responsibility
  • Provide clerical support for accounts payable
  • Support sales tax return filings
  • Other ad hoc reports, projects, and assignments as needed


Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of payroll experience in a multi-state environment
  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now system
  • Intermediate MS Office skills
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
  • Previous experience implementing and upgrading Payroll systems and Time & Attendance a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge of local, state, and federal payroll tax laws and regulations
  • Strong sense of urgency with all payroll-related matters

  • Experience working collaboratively across functions
