Position Summary

Plans and directs facilities activities such as building maintenance, space leasing, property management, and maintenance of properties. Ensures the optimal utilization of the organization's facilities. Assesses and evaluates the physical space requirements of the organization and recommends plans to meet needs. Ensures proper functioning of facilities through ongoing inspection and maintenance. Serve as local project manager for construction, renovation and relocation projects, as needed. Develop and supervise the inventory management of assets including furniture and furnishings throughout portfolio. Evaluate, establish and manage space utilization changes. Executes procurement and purchase orders related to facilities transactions


Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Preferred Education:

Required Experience:
3+ years Experience in an administrative, hospitality or tenant services capacity. Prior experience working in the property management, commercial real estate, or facilities services industries preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to stay organized in a fast-paced 24/7 environment. Work with various technologies, which include but not limited to smart phones, tablets and computers, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

Preferred Experience:
Preferred customer-service experience. Experience working in a union environment.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Skills: interpreting and applying blueprints, specifications and technical manuals. Ability: to work independently within a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline oriented environment, interpersonal skills at all levels. Work in a consensus driven collaborative manner, initiate and follow through on assignments, inspecting or performing quality control for projects. Position will be required to conduct daily and/or weekly site visits across multiple NYU IT facilities. Ability to work an expanded schedule to assist with facilities emergencies, relocations and facilities projects as needed.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of project schedules and budget administration such as creating and tracking budgets. Familiarity with Wikis and database management.
