The USDA-Human Nutrition Research on Aging (HNRCA) is one of six USDA human research centers created to study the effect of human nutrition on health. The HNRCA mission is to conduct state-of-the-art research on human nutrition and aging.
The HNRCA is operated by Tufts University through a cooperative agreement with the Agricultural Research Service (ARS). Located adjacent to the Tufts University Health Science campus in Boston, Massachusetts, the HNRCA is one of six human nutrition research centers in the United States supported by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Plans, organizes, and conducts highly independent research project(s), including designing, testing, and evaluating methodologies and protocols. Analyzes and organizes data and data collection systems, interprets and summarizes results, and writes materials for publication and presentation. Manages laboratory operations, including oversight of purchasing, inventory, equipment upkeep and safety; hires, trains and supervises laboratory staff and evaluates work. QualificationsBasic Requirements:
- Master’s degree in science
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a related field of research
Special Work Schedule Requirements:
- PhD biochemistry or cell biology
- 2 English language publications
- Familiarity with ubiquitin system, specifically ubiquitin conjugating enzymes and degradation enzymes
The RA is expected to work all hours that are required to execute the research. This may involve weekends and nights.
