As a Field Safety Coordinator you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Interface with Project Manger and work with field supervision to identify and develop corrective actions for hazardous work conditions or unsafe employee actions
  • Provide assistance to project and department management personnel to ensure compliance with all safety, accident and fire programs, procedures and policies
  • Assist in incident investigation when required
  • Work with supervision and engineers to develop and review Job Hazard Analyses
  • Assist project manager and supervision in safety audits
  • Conduct and participate in new hire orientation process
  • Prepare safety toolbox talks
  • Prepare and develop safety training topics when required
  • Inventory and order safety supplies and materials as needed
  • Maintains knowledge of Flatiron's company values and strategic plan
  • Support published corporate policies
  • Perform additional assignments per management's direction

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field from an accredited institution and 2 years relevant experience and/or training in the construction industry
  • Construction safety, current federal, state and provincial safety requirements experience required
