As a Purchasing Agent, you will execute the purchasing needs for the jobsites by identifying, developing and selecting qualified reputable vendors while maintaining professional vendor relations.

  • Order materials and or services for jobsites
  • Solve problems involving billing and critical logistics
  • Maintain professional relationships internally and externally
  • Monitor and analyze vendor/ supplier pricing to assure best possible savings
  • Take advantage of bulk purchasing opportunities
  • Generate Purchase Orders for suppliers and vendors
  • Prepares reports and correspondence as needed
  • Follow-up with vendors to ensure timely order fulfillment, verify delivery to correct locations, accurate quantity, and specifications
  • Expedite and negotiate vendor pricing, terms and conditions along with determining vendor reliability and ability to perform
  • Maintains knowledge of Flatiron's company values and strategic plan
  • Support published corporate policies
  • Perform additional assignments per management's direction

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 2 years related experience and/or training in the heavy civil road/bridge industry
