Job Description

Industrial Economics, Incorporated (IEc) is a consulting firm that provides expert analysis to government decision makers and regulators, corporate strategic partners, trade associations, and other clients. IEc is particularly known for developing conceptually correct and practical approaches to analyze complex problems and issues. We are seeking to hire an energetic, detail-oriented individual to join our team as the Information Resources Librarian. Ideal candidates are organized, resourceful and creative researchers. 

The Information Resources Librarian position is a regular, Part-Time, hourly position. Averaging approximately 20 hours per week, this position consists of the following duties: 

--Working with other IEc staff to identify information gaps and research needs associated with specific environmental, economic, and scientific research topics. 
--Designing and implementing approaches to conduct comprehensive literature searches and organize potentially relevant information. 
--Performing on-line database searches, procuring documents, and securing inter-library loans to meet the research needs.
--Evaluating existing information services that the firm subscribes to and researching alternative and supplementary sources for consideration.
--Conducting periodic outreach to other staff to identify general information needs and challenges.
--Communicating with staff through the newsletter, email, training sessions, office hours, focus group, or other methods to share new information sources and strategies that improve our information acquisition and management strategies.
--Tracking library expenditures and project acquisition costs and preparing bills and invoices.
--Managing the existing physical books/articles. 
--Digitizing materials and cataloging resources.
--Conducting Information Resources orientation for new IEc employees

A Bachelor’s Degree and at least three years of relevant work experience designing and implementing complex literature searches and conducting research are required.
