IDC's Research Divisions are seeking paid summer interns (10 week, 30 hour/week assignments) who will participate in market research activities that support our research agenda. Candidates who possess research, writing and data analysis skills are desired. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career, learning from the industry's sharpest and most forward thinking analysts.

These internships are based in Framingham, Massachusetts at IDC's US Headquarters.

  • Assist in developing and writing IT market research reports
  • Conduct vendor outreach
  • Work with primary and secondary survey data
  • Perform data analysis
  • Create data visualizations
  • Update PowerPoint presentations
  • Project management


  • Must be able to commute to the IDC's Framingham, MA office
  • Essential market research methodology, quantitative, analytic and writing skills
  • Software proficiency (e.g. Excel, pivot tables, and PowerPoint)
  • Time management skills, especially when it comes to managing multiple projects
  • Familiarity with surveys and working with survey data
  • Experience with secondary research
  • Visualizing data insights via Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to work independently
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verba;
  • Excellent attention to detail
