JOB SUMMARY:

Support the growth, development, and expansion of the SC Adopt-a-Stream citizen science program. Participate in research, grant writing, and outreach related to watershed health. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:

30% - Essential - Manage day-to-day operations related to this citizen science monitoring program. Build webpages, communicate with volunteers, post events, prepare kits, conduct trainings

30% - Essential - Lead the development of training modules for educators on SC Adopt-a-Stream in the classroom. Create supporting lesson plans and activities.

20% - Essential - Participate in the launch of the tidal waterways monitoring program and grant writing. This will include development of training resources, database expansion and testing, hosting trainings and meetings, and research and collaborations.

10% - Essential - Identify new partners and potential sponsors of the program. Be a leader in identifying new training opportunities and efficiently recertifying growing numbers of volunteers.

10% - Essential - Assist in being a resource to growing watershed monitoring requests from schools and other stakeholders.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, wildlife management or related technical area and experience in fish, wildlife or marine resource management or research programs. A master's degree in biology, chemistry or wildlife management may be substituted for the required work experience.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

2+ years working with the public and environmental sciences or monitoring.

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 05 ($ 32,838.00 - $ 43,000.00)
