Person needed to perform a wide variety of maintenance functions required to maintain the physical plant of the American Tobacco Historic District. Complete assigned maintenance repairs on building needs including but not limited to electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall repair, masonry, doors/hardware and plumbing; other trade supports as needed; must develop a skill level in at least one of the above building trades. Will operate hi-lift/trash compactors and maintain the facility vehicle fleet. Experienced plumbing a plus.
The successful candidate will assist in emergencies as needed; perform call-catching responsibilities as assigned; learn, understand, and comply with all fire, safety and other emergency practices. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with customers and fellow employees; maintain records of activities performed; and be able to work independently. Knowledge of methods, practices and techniques of building maintenance is necessary; will participate in training directed at increasing job skills. A high school diploma or equivalent, five to ten years of related experience, and a pre-employment drug screening are required.
