JOB SUMMARY:


Marketing Manager would be responsible for developing a marketing plan for the Sonoco Institute and Wood Utilization + Design Institute (WU+D), with an emphasis on driving seminar and event attendance, Institute services, and gaining additional companies to the Membership Programs. This person would manage contact lists, send communications, develop promotional materials, publish press releases and articles, manage social media presence, and maintain a presence for the Institutes at industry events.


JOB DUTIES:


60% - Essential - Develop and enact marketing plan for the Sonoco Institute and WU+D emphasizing filling existing capacity in programs and services, as well as growing the Membership Program.

15% - Essential - Write and distribute press releases and articles for industry publications.

10% - Essential - Maintain and grow contact list and have responsibility for email communications, updating websites, social media and other marketing activities. Nurture relationships between companies and the institutes.

10% - Essential - Participate in industry events such as trade shows and conferences, promoting Sonoco Institute and WU+D activities through booth space, tabletops, advertisements and speaking engagements.

5% - Essential - Plan visitor meetings at institutes and related University facilities.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


A bachelor's degree and professional experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material.

Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides Budget Input - Provides input into the budgeting process, and oversees fund allocation.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

10% - Overnight Travel


WORK SCHEDULE:


Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 06 ($ 39,960.00 - $ 50,000.00)
