A Network Engineer is responsible for installation, maintenance, and problem resolution related to loca] area and data center networks. It involves additional support requirements such as 24 hour pager coverage for networking issues. Although such travel is usually planned in advance- issues can arise which could warrant immediate travel to one or more satellite locations.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Install, upgrade, and maintain Network Monitoring tools & applications 10%
  • Install and maintain data center hardware installations, software installations, and upgrades on LAN; including but not limited to Routers, Switches, Hubs, DNS, DHCP, IP Addressing 25%
  • Development and documentation of best practices on related technical matters, including network documentation 10%
  • Network Equipment tracking, and troubleshooting 25%
  • Network solution research, testing, and implementation 20%
  • Develop, deploy, and test network disaster recovery plans 5%
  • Attendance during regular work hours and overtime as required.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned 5%

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor Degree(minimum) or equivalent experience; Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) preferred but not required
  • 1-3+ years of network engineering, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of local area networks and data center routing and switching.
  • Various network administration is required; particularly Cisco Networking.
