Description

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will perform tasks related to the collection of cost data required to monitor project budget and estimates. Requires the selection and application of resource monitoring and control principles, techniques and technical knowledge of construction project.

Responsibilities
  • Manage subcontract administration and permanent material supplier through monitoring of correspondence, issue change orders and pay sheet
  • Issue service agreements for various needs as directed by project manager
  • Submit Monthly Pay Estimate and Subcontract Pay Vouchers
  • Track quantities (material/labor) for payment and cost purposes
  • Code daily labor, purchase orders, subcontractor invoices, costs, quantities, actual expenditures, etc. for tracking in cost system
  • Calculate material/work quantity requirements (takeoffs); monitor progress, percentage complete per work item
  • Perform Weekly Quantity Input in JD Edwards
  • Create or assist in weekly meeting agenda and deliver, MPR, QF Reports, and Project Cash Flow
  • Review monthly project fuel log and equipment log as assigned
  • Prepare and manage submittals & RFI's
  • Review incoming submittal prior to sending to Owner
  • Update and maintain project Baseline & Weekly schedules
  • Maintain documentation to support the company's position for claims resolution
  • Assist / Manage workplans, post plans and pre-plan process
  • Update As-built drawings
  • Manage Permanent Material Acquisition (Inventory Upon Deliver, etc.)
  • Generate Staking Request
  • Coordinate and circulate responses to all affected personnel and subcontractors
  • Assist in Managing Environment permits and regulations
  • Generate Survey Requests
  • Manage Underground Service Alert (USA) process
  • Manage extra work process, change orders and claims management
  • Review of daily timesheets
  • Manage BRR's, JE's & Subcontracts CCO's
  • Prepare and/or assist with the preparation of DRB documents
  • Monitor and/or manage project document control
  • Manage project photos database
  • Manage company material inventory
  • Coordinate requirements and progress with structural design engineers or other consultants.
  • Review critical picks
  • Assist field engineers with job duties requirements such as timecard review, invoice processing, JHA etc.
  • Attend weekly crew safety meeting and monthly mass safety meeting
  • Develop good working relationship with owners, subcontractors and field personnel
  • Participate in all senior management tours of the project site
  • Support project with all technical matters and determine outside assistance when needed
  • Participate in project close out report
  • Update diary (Daily)
  • Knowledgeable & enforce company safety policies
  • Set productive, consistent, and acceptable work example
  • May be asked to assist in performance review, mentoring and coaching to field engineers
  • Maintains knowledge of Flatiron's company values and strategic plan
  • Support published corporate policies
  • Perform additional assignments per management's direction

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 3 years construction engineering experience and/or training
  • Or 8 years construction engineering related experience and/or training
  • Resource monitoring techniques (i.e. cost accounting, basic estimating) and construction technology, process systems and/or structures experience preferred
