Job Description


Assist in performing human resources duties in areas such as employment, employee relations, and employee welfare and retirement benefits.


  • Perform all aspects of the new employee recruitment, selection, and new hire orientation process
  • Assist supervisors with human resources-related activities to ensure compliance with all applicable Company policies/procedures and state and Federal regulations (e.g., ADA, FMLA, Fair Labor Standards Act and Wage & Hour regulations)
  • Compile Affirmative Action data for the company and work with third party to create 9 Affirmative Action Plans annually
  • Ensure the completion of monthly reports on attendance, performance reviews, vacation accruals, service awards, annual EEO-1 and Vets-100 Reports
  • Coordinate HR actions with the Benefits and Payroll departments
  • Assist in developing and revising policies, procedures and job descriptions
  • Assist with annual benefits open enrollment process
  • Supervise HR Specialist and direct reports


  • Assist in managing HR records (organize, retrieve, research, protect, etc.)
  • Prepare and Present soft skill training for off-site locations – travel will be required
  • Other duties and projects as assigned


Required Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent proofreading skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to act independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and prioritization skills
  • Strong computer/software skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with JD Edwards is a plus
  • Strong knowledge federal and state employment law regulations
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive material
Required Experience:

Requires four-year degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience in Human Resources. Training for effective presentation skills. Exposure to industrial safety standard a plus. PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
