The Morgan Library & Museum seeks an innovative professional for the position of Head of Reader Services. Reporting to the Director of Research Services, the Head of Reader Services supports scholarly researchers’ use of rare and reference materials in the Morgan’s collections, whose areas of strengths include medieval and Renaissance manuscripts, drawings and prints, literary and historical manuscripts, music manuscripts and printed scores, printed books and bindings, and ancient Near Eastern seals and tablets. He/she manages the day-to-day operations of the reading room and its staff, providing the highest quality of service while ensuring the preservation and security of the collections. He/she also develops the Morgan’s long-term strategy for supporting and expanding researchers’ access to the collection and serves as an ambassador for the Morgan to both library and scholarly communities.
