Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance & Administration, the Senior System Administrator’s primary focus is the definition, administration, and support of the organization’s IT systems. He/she provides technical support to the organization, managing backups, deploying new systems, and leading IT-related special projects. General responsibilities include support for internal networks, systems, general applications, connectivity, data platforms and computer operations on a high-availability basis. The Senior Systems Administrator is a highly visible role, expected to provide exceptional end-user support across the organization, and proactively manage areas of responsibility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manages and provides IT support for systems and applications, across all TWS offices.
o Provides ongoing workstation support and maintenance for organization-wide hardware and software applications;
o Provides basic server support and maintenance;
o Responsible for the regular development of project work, estimates, proposals, and plans, and executing on such work in support of TWS staff;
o Installs, configures, and provides ongoing support for network printers;
o Oversees installation operations, including firewall, authentication, proxy and security protocols, legacy system integration, and load balancing;
o Upgrades and configures software as needed;
o Provides IT support for organizational meetings and calls;
o Troubleshoots network issues as needed.
Responsible for management of IT helpdesk requests and responds to requests per internal customer service guidelines.
Performs regular security monitoring and is responsible for identifying any possible intrusions, researching solutions, alerting appropriate management personnel, and communicating with staff.
Manages user network accounts and creates, changes, and suspends user accounts and access as needed.
Maintains IT hardware and asset inventory.
o Tracks equipment issued to new staff;
o Recovers equipment from exiting staff;
o Monitors equipment performance and determines the need for repair or replacement.
Maintains backup systems and proactively monitors daily backups, addressing technical issues when identified.
Monitors and maintains organizational licenses and warranties for IT systems and equipment. Proactively renews licenses as necessary to ensure consistent access to software and applications.
Proactive in seeking and sharing of ideas, experience, mentoring, and information. Continually supports and contributes to staff IT knowledgebase (i.e., regularly sharing IT “How-To’s” and other user-focused documentation).
Works with the CFO and others as the CFO may designate in the estimation of resource requirements for projects.
Researches new technology and recommends changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determines hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
Develops and maintains documentation on network configuration, procedures, and changes.
Coordinates with IT vendors and contractors on a regular basis.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
